We went away for a night and came back to mice that WIGGLE! And they have FUR! I tried to get an individual shot of each baby but after six of eight were completed, Jane had decided that I had done enough and she started carrying the babies away and hiding them in the shavings. Since this resulted in screams of pain/unhappiness by the babies, I decided that we should end the photography session there. More later!
Today was day three of the neurostim exercises. I'm not sure I got everyone today. There was a lot of moving around and the light ones still look alike to me.
One of the babies wiggled right out of his holder's hands and fell today. It seemed like a soft landing and he appeared to be fine. I figure that counts as three days worth of neurostim, right? Also, we've learned a lesson and will be more careful in the future.
I'm thinking of moving them to a tank tomorrow. They are due for a bedding change and will soon need more room to run around. I hope that doesn't distress Jane.

My favorite! Look at the little white smudge on his forehead. SO CUTE!
Yep looks like silvers and blacks, but no orange mice. They are doing well, they look fat and healthy. Oh and baby mice always complain when moms carry them. Hopefully they have their little eyes open soon. Then they really start being fun.
ReplyDeleteHave fun.

I actually think one of the ones that didn't get photographed might be orange. I'll try to get a photo tomorrow. Do you think we are past the point of her possibly going ape-nuts and killing everyone if we start spending a bit more time with the babies?
ReplyDeleteYeah, i think your most likely in the clear. Maybe take the pups to somewhere she can't see you to play with them. Mom can count but she would be less stressed if they are out of sight.
ReplyDeleteIf she were a pinkie eater they of already gone missing. :p

Nice - loving all the color! Are they "vibrating" yet?
